What If You Could Suggest Something to Renato Picks?
This is the thirtieth post on Renato Picks. Thirty texts written in October, one per day, about things I've been learning — about attention, about work, about faith, about relationships, about what technology is doing to us. It isn't a big number. But for someone who started out not knowing whether they could keep the pace, it's a number that deserves a pause.
This pause is this post. It's different from the others. It isn't a reflection on a theme. It's a reminder of what Renato Picks is, a reflection on what I'm learning, and, above all, an invitation. Because I've reached a point where I need to hear from you what I can't see on my own.
What Renato Picks is
Renato Picks is an independent research site about digital products, books, and courses. The idea is simple: I research, read, compare, and write about what I find — without hype, without promises, without sensationalism. Everything here is free. Some links are affiliate links, which means that if you buy through them, I receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is explained on every page, and I don't hide it.
The site is trilingual: Portuguese, English, and Spanish. That isn't vanity. It's because I believe the same questions about attention, work, faith, and relationships show up in any language. And because I learned, as a language teacher, that translation is a way of understanding the original better.
The tone is the one you already know if you've read the other posts: educational, transparent, without promises. I don't sell formulas. I don't promise transformation. I write about what I'm learning, with the honesty of someone still in the middle of the road.
What I'm learning
Thirty posts teach things I didn't expect. I learned that writing every day is less about inspiration and more about discipline — about sitting down and doing it, even when I don't feel like it. I learned that repeating a format gets tiring, and that varying the opening, the closing, and the structure of each text isn't decoration: it's respect for the reader.
I also learned that writing about what I'm learning is different from writing about what I already know. The first kind of text is more honest, but it's harder. It requires me to admit, on the page, that I'm still in the middle. It requires me not to fake a clarity I don't have. And, in the end, it's this kind of text that brings me back to the site every day.
I learned, finally, that the site is bigger than I imagined. It started as a research project. It became a place where I think out loud. And, gradually, it's becoming a place of conversation — or at least that's what I'd like it to be.
What already exists here
For those who just arrived, a quick map. There are posts of reflection (like this one), book reviews (three so far: Atomic Habits, How to Win Friends and Influence People, The 5 Second Rule), course reviews (three: The Awakening, The Root, The Service), product reviews (one real product, two placeholders), a glossary with more than fifty terms in three languages, a focus music page with six tracks per language, and a support page with Stripe and Instagram for anyone who wants to contribute.
All of it is free. All of it is independent. None of it is sponsored by a brand — affiliate links are the only source of revenue, and they're marked.
What I still don't know how to do well
Here's the part that matters for this post. There are things I still don't know how to do well on Renato Picks, and that you probably notice better than I do.
I don't know, for example, whether the publishing pace is right. One post a day is too much? Too little? Does it tire the reader? Should it be more spaced out, denser, shorter? I don't know. I chose this pace for a reason — I wanted to give the site volume — but I'm not sure it's the best for the people who read.
I don't know if the topics are right. I talk a lot about attention, work, faith, relationships, technology. But maybe you'd like to read about other things: money, health, creativity, music, language learning, fatherhood, marriage, anxiety, grief. I don't know. I'm writing from what I live, but what I live isn't what everyone lives.
I don't know if the site is easy to use. Whether the filter tags work. Whether the home carousel is useful or confusing. Whether the music player gets in the way. Whether the glossary is too dense. Whether the support page is clear. These are things that I, from the inside, can't see clearly.
And I don't know, above all, whether what I'm writing is arriving. Whether people read to the end. Whether anything changes. Whether the tone is right. Whether the site is useful or just another noisy place on the internet.
What you can suggest
This is where you come in. If you've read this far, you have something I don't have: the outside perspective. And that's the perspective I need.
You can suggest topics. A subject you'd like to see covered here. A book you think I should review. A course, a product, a question you carry that you haven't seen anyone answer honestly.
You can suggest improvements. Something that doesn't work well on the site. A confusing text. A tag that doesn't show up. A filter that freezes. A page that doesn't load. A passage that sounds false. A sentence that sounds like a promise and shouldn't.
You can suggest corrections. A mistake in Portuguese, English, Spanish. A wrong date. A broken link. Information that doesn't check out. A book that doesn't have an edition in the language I said it does.
And you can suggest what not to do. Maybe the site is heading in a direction that doesn't make sense. Maybe the pace is wrong. Maybe the tone is heavy. Maybe too many posts are tiring. Saying what to stop is also a suggestion.
How to reach me
The main channel is Instagram: @renatoqueirog. There you can send me a direct message, comment on a post, or reply to a story. I read everything, even if I can't reply to everything.
I don't have a team. I don't have a form. I don't have a support center. I have an inbox and the will to listen. If you write, I read. If you suggest something that makes sense, I consider it. If you point out a mistake, I fix it. It's that simple.
Renato Picks started as a research project. It's becoming, gradually, a place of conversation. And conversation only happens if you show up. This post is the invitation. The rest depends on you.
